Lehmann Lovegrass

Lehmann Lovegrass is an introduced, warm-season, perennial bunchgrass growing from 1.5 to 2 feet in height. It grows in a somewhat open habit, often as a continuous stand where individuals are difficult to identify.

It was first introduced in the arid Southwest in the 1930s for range restoration purposes and grows well in desert Shrub and Grasslands. Lehmann Lovegrass re-seeds itself quickly after disturbance. It is very competitive and, where adapted, tends to replace native grasses over a period of years.
