Description
Blackwell Switchgrass is the most common variety of Switchgrass, often used in irrigated pastures and sandhill range plantings. Switchgrass is a perennial, Native sod-forming, warm-season grass that grows 4 to 7 feet tall.
A rhizomatous warm-season bunchgrass is used for biomass and soil stabilization on strip mine spoil and dikes. It is also used in buffer strips for nutrient uptake. It provides pasture and hay for cattle and sheep and is also a source of food and cover for wildlife.
