Maximilian Sunflower
Description
Maximilian Sunflower is a tall perennial sunflower with yellow flowers that are 3 inches across. Clustered leaves are grayish-green and rough to the touch, often folded and curving downward.
Maximilian Sunflower enjoys full sunlight and is moderately drought-tolerant. A wildflower native to the central U.S. plains states, it produces showy yellow ray flowers from midsummer to fall. It's Rhizomatous and aggressive characteristics make it a heavy competitor in mixes. Very important wildlife plant, deer forage on leaves, and birds eat the seeds.
